Sacred Steel which was partially funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, Traditional Arts Program, documented five Florida masters in 73 minutes of digital field recordings and a 32-page booklet entitled Sacred Steel: Traditional Sacred African-American Steel Guitar Music. Bob Stone wrote the musical interpretation. Sherry Sherrod DuPree and Herbert C. DuPree wrote the church historical overview. Willie Eason is "The Father of African American Gospel Hawaiian Steel Guitar Players in the United States." He is also winner of the 1995 Florida Folk Heritage Award. Eason is available to perform for you.
