Mini Grant!

Florida Humanities Council Benchmarks of Quality
Florida Humanities Council (FHC) is pleased to announce its new Mini Grants program. Any non-profit organization is eligible to apply for a grant of up to $2,000. Your project may be on any humanities topic (history. literature, cultural anthropology, ethics, etc.) but must result in a public program, although the format may vary (lecture wiith question and answer penod. mini-exhibit, workshop. reading/discussion prograrn. etc.
Proposals will be reviewed four times 3 year. No organization will be eligible for a second grant if they already have an open grant. No organization may receive more than two grants in any twelve-month period.
To apply for funding write a brief description (no more than two page) of your project. Include the name, address. phone number and employer's ID number (or social security number) of the sponsoring organization. Then respond to the following questions:
What do you want to do? When and where will it take place?
Which humanities discipline(s) is/are the focus of your project?
Who is/are your humanities scholar(s)? What is the scholar's role in your project?
Wbo is your targeted audience? How will you reach them? Have members of that audience had a role in the planning of your project?
What is your sponsoring organization's contribution (cash and/or in-kind) to the project? And how will FHC funds be spent?

BENCHMARKS OF QUALITY
The project content is centered on one or more of the humanities disciplines.
Each project is focused on a topic, text or idea which is analyzed and
discussed using the methodology of the humanities.
The methods of the humanities - critical thinking and interpretation - are
evident throughout the program. Scholars are actively involved in the
project, drawing upon their analytical, interpretive, and pedagogical skills.
Scholars and the general public are involved in disciplined dialogue which
benefits both.
Members of the intended audience participate in the planning and
implementation of the project as a means of ensuring that topics and
formats engage the interest of the participants.
FHC is given proper credit for sponsoring the program.
The sponsoring organization is contributing appropriate support (cash
and/or in kind).
